Whiteness is not opacity
No. Whiteness and opacity describe different optical properties. A source whiteness value does not automatically tell you how much printing on the reverse side will show through. Gram weight alone also does not establish that result. The selected records’ appearance claims do not amount to our own controlled duplex or opacity experiment.
Read the exact source property
If show-through matters, look for the exact current opacity specification and its method, then relate it to the intended print job. Do not borrow a number from another Navigator range, Steinbeis grade or Viking paper. Our finder leaves an unestablished property unknown rather than deriving it from CIE whiteness or nominal 80 gsm.
Do not judge from a web image
A web photo is especially weak evidence for this decision. Our anonymous blank-paper images are illustrative and contain no actual selected-brand test pages. A white-looking sheet on a bright screen does not prove opacity, colour accuracy or suitable results with a particular ink load. No actual print coverage or viewing-condition comparison was performed.
Use a relevant sample process
Ask the seller about an appropriate sample and the return or trial conditions before a large purchase if the job depends on the result. Keep the exact media requirements and document type beside the quote. A lower price per sheet can still be a poor choice for a demanding job, but we cannot rank an untested print outcome as a fact.
A purchase case to keep explicit
A buyer choosing paper for dense two-sided charts should request a relevant sample and assess it under their actual document and viewing conditions. We have not performed that assessment. The absence of an opacity value in this selected record is a request for evidence, not proof that show-through will or will not occur.
